Shaving might be part of your daily routine, but it can often be accompanied by itching, irritation and even ingrown hairs. Many women shave their legs incorrectly, which can cause the legs to become scratched, burned and inflamed. To avoid causing ingrown hairs or irritation, shave your legs the right way, so they will be smooth and sleek while remaining soothed.
Things You’ll Need
- Moisturizing shaving cream
- Razor with a new blade
- Jojoba oil
Soak your legs in the bathtub in very warm water to soften the skin sufficiently. Fill the tub and sit in the water for at least 15 minutes. Allow the water to cover your legs.
Apply a moisturizing shaving cream to keep the legs hydrated while shaving, and shave in the direction of hair growth. Spread a good amount of shaving cream onto your legs, covering the entire area well. Use a razor that contains a new blade, making sure to shave with the grain of the hair growth.
Apply jojoba oil to keep your skin hydrated and to allow it to heal quickly. Pour 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil into your hands and rub them together well to distribute the oil evenly. Gently massage the oil into your skin, covering the area with a thin coat. Allow the jojoba oil to soak in.
